Revu Privacy Policy
Effective date: June 5, 2026
Revu gives you a skin assessment from three photographs you choose to take, and a plan based on what it reads. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information We Collect
- Photographs. We collect the three photographs you take for your assessment. They are stored in the app on your device and sent to our server only for the moment your assessment is being prepared. See "Your Photographs and How They Are Read" below.
- Account and app identifiers. Revu uses an anonymous Supabase account identifier, an app install/device identifier, and authentication tokens. Your account is anonymous: we do not collect your name or your email address unless you contact support.
- Your answers and your journal. We store the answers you give during the assessment, such as your age band, what you have tried and anything you tell us about your circumstances, together with the notes, moods and photographs you add to your journal. These are held on your device.
- Purchase information. We receive purchase information from Apple and RevenueCat, including product identifiers, transaction identifiers and entitlement status. We never receive your payment card details.
- Usage, analytics, and attribution information. We collect limited app interaction, purchase, restore, install attribution, device, and product interaction data through AppsFlyer and app logs to understand performance, attribution, and reliability.
- Support information. If you contact us, we collect the information you send, such as your email address and message content.
How We Use Information
- To prepare and deliver your skin assessment and the plan that comes with it.
- To provide paid access and purchase restoration.
- To diagnose failures in preparing an assessment, so that a paid assessment is not lost.
- To protect the app from abuse, fraud and rate-limit bypasses.
- To provide customer support and process account or photo deletion requests.
- To measure app performance, purchase conversion, advertising attribution and product reliability.
Your Photographs and How They Are Read
Revu asks you for three photographs of your face so it can give you a skin assessment. That is the only reason it asks.
Where your photographs are kept. On your phone. The three photographs you take are stored in the app on your own device, not on our servers.
What happens when your assessment is prepared. Each photograph is sent over an encrypted connection to Revu's server, which passes it straight to Anthropic, the company whose system reads it. Revu's server does not save your photograph. It is held only for the moment the request takes and is not written to any file, database or backup.
Anthropic processes the photograph to produce the reading and returns it to us. Anthropic's privacy policy is at anthropic.com/legal/privacy.
What comes back. Your report is text. It contains no photograph of you, and nothing that could be used to recognise your face anywhere else.
Deleting them. You can delete your photographs at any time from the You screen. "Delete my photos" removes the three assessment photographs and any photograph you have added to a journal day. Deleting your account removes everything Revu holds for you.
What Revu does not do with your face. Revu does not identify you from your photographs, does not match them against anyone else's, does not build a faceprint, and does not share them with advertisers or any other company for their own purposes.
Revu may retain limited non-image records, such as purchase, security and assessment status records, as needed for App Store purchase support, fraud prevention, accounting, legal obligations and troubleshooting.
Sharing With Service Providers
We share information with service providers only as needed to operate Revu. These providers may include Supabase for authentication, database, and storage; RevenueCat and Apple for purchases and subscriptions; AppsFlyer for analytics and attribution; Anthropic, for reading the photographs you submit for your assessment; and infrastructure providers that host the app backend.
Advertising and Tracking
Revu uses AppsFlyer for attribution and purchase analytics. Revu does not request Apple's App Tracking Transparency permission and does not use the IDFA in the current app version. Attribution may use Apple SKAdNetwork and other privacy-preserving or aggregated methods. We do not sell personal information.
Your Choices
- Delete photos. You can delete your photographs from the app's You screen. This removes the three assessment photographs and any photograph you have added to a journal day.
- Delete account. You can request account deletion from the app. This removes your Revu account, your photographs, your answers, your journal and your report, on your device and on our servers.
- Photo permissions. You can change Camera and Photos permissions in iOS Settings.
- Purchases. You can manage or cancel any subscription through your Apple account subscription settings.
Children
Revu is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.
Security
We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect information, including authenticated backend requests, encrypted connections, limited access to production systems, and not writing your photographs to storage at any point. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Revu changes. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date and, when appropriate, provide notice in the app or through the App Store listing.
